Summary
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor position is responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouse functions including shipping/receiving, material flow to production lines, storing and distribution of goods. Supervises employees and oversees the processing, packaging and storage of supplies, material and equipment. Ensures Warehouse operations are in accordance with established procedures and policies. Keeps management well informed of significant problems and area activities.

Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure the schedule is synchronized with customer order deliveries, product on time, organized for production, and is efficient as possible within the constraints of the order/job responsibilities effectively and ensure safe operating procedures are followed
  • Coordinate the day-to-day head count and staffing requirements by considering operational requirements and labor costs
  • Conduct daily team meetings to discuss the schedule, problems, solutions, and improvement
  • Oversee all Cycle Count processes and provide root causes and corrective actions.
  • Work with production supervisors to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of production
  • Participate in department staffing, including conducting interviews, participation in onboarding and new hire training and development
  • Responsible for daily review and weekly approval of employees’ timecards, time off requests and attendance reports
  • Evaluate employee performance, communicate with employees, provide timely feedback and information for performance improvement
  • Hold employees accountable by ensuring compliance with company policies, safety and productivity. Follow proper coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions when needed in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Identify, develop, and support continuous improvement opportunities
  • Perform daily walks and visual inspections of the Warehouse floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; take immediate corrective action where necessary
  • Inspect condition of tools and equipment. Initiate, create and verify that work orders given to maintenance are completed and effectively follow up on issues. Coordinate repairs of equipment with outside vendors and/or forklift mechanics
  • Ensure safety compliance with organizations policy, State and Federal regulations and oversee and ensure the cleanliness of the work environment
  • Enforce HACCP, SOP, and GMP procedures and commit to Food Safety as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Safety purposes

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education & Experience
 
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or Supply Chain preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory capacity is required or 4 years as a Lead in a Warehouse/Manufacturing environment.
  • Qualified to operate PIT equipment (forklifts and pallet jacks); must be able to pass forklift test
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Computer savvy, including data entry; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook; as well as internet-based applications
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of warehouse equipment and safety
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures
