Position Summary
The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing daily and weekly cycle counts, tracking inventory movement throughout the warehouse, and assisting with the annual physical inventory. This position identifies inventory discrepancies, verifies product condition, and works closely with Warehouse, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to support inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily physical counts of fresh produce and verify that all products are usable and in acceptable condition.
  • Report damaged or unusable products to the appropriate buyer or member of management.
  • Distribute daily fresh produce inventory reports to Inventory Coordinators, Buyers, and Supply Chain.
  • Conduct cycle counts to verify item numbers, quantities, and warehouse locations.
  • Identify, document, and report inventory discrepancies or errors.
  • Compare quantities scheduled for picking against quantities allocated.
  • Ensure warehouse inventory is allocated and rotated according to First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Conduct searches to locate missing, misplaced, or misclassified inventory.
  • Perform weekly warehouse location checks to verify inventory accuracy and ensure similar items are properly separated.
  • Track inventory movements throughout the warehouse.
  • Assist with data entry, recordkeeping, and filing.
  • Support Warehouse and Operations management with the preparation and completion of the annual physical inventory.
  • Report to work as scheduled and return on time from meals and rest periods.
  • Follow and help reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned based on operational and organizational needs.
Qualifications:
  • Previous inventory control or cycle-counting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Warehouse, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and management teams.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
  • Forklift certification is preferred, including experience operating an order picker or reach truck.
  • Ability to successfully complete the company’s forklift certification process, if required.
Physical and Work Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment and move throughout warehouse and storage areas.
  • Ability to work work in varying environments (hot or cold storage and freezers)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing inventory counts.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment when properly trained and authorized.
  • Ability to comply with all required PPE, GMP, and workplace safety standards.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, work in varying environments (hot or cold storage and freezers), stand and walk for long periods of time, and withstand strong odors from the foods being processed.  Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
